Infinite Recovery’s mental health intensive outpatient program (IOP) helps clients overcome a variety of mental health disorders, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). At our treatment center in Austin, Texas, we help you heal and reach new heights in your recovery journey, whether you’re coping with co-occurring disorders or mental health complications.
Mental health and PTSD treatment at Infinite Recovery is tailored towards adults overcoming mental illness, with or without substance use disorder. Our mental health IOP lasts, on average, between 30 and 60 days. This is one of our flexible treatment programs, allowing you to reap the benefits of therapy and treatment while also living your life outside the walls of our treatment center.
In our mental health IOP, we help you spot triggers, build and strengthen coping skills, heal past trauma, build self-esteem, and improve your decision-making. Our IOP includes individual therapy, group therapy, medication management, and family support.
Infinite Recovery’s calm, private setting is designed to support emotional safety, nervous system regulation, and trauma recovery. Our ranch, located in Austin, Texas, provides a tranquil environment that promotes healing, keeping you grounded mentally and physically in the present moment and removing any external distractions or chaos.
Clients receive in-person therapy sessions supported by experienced clinicians and mental health professionals. Trauma-informed care addresses the root of your mental health issues. In your individual and group therapy sessions, you develop a sense of safety with others and yourself, trust, and self-empowerment.

Your loved ones play a key role in mental health recovery. Family therapy and family dynamics therapy are two services Infinite Recovery offers to make recovery alongside loved ones possible.
We also offer online support groups that help families connect with others going through a similar healing journey with their loved one.
Aftercare planning is part of our full continuum of care. During treatment, we work with you to develop a plan that promotes consistency, progress, and sustainability. This includes staying connected through our alumni program and providing you with the necessary tools, skills, and resources for successful relapse prevention.
Comprehensive care at Infinite Recovery includes a combination of evidence-based and holistic therapies. It’s important to us that we help you heal all areas of wellness, not just related to your substance use disorder or mental health. The eight dimensions of wellness we prioritize are:
To address these areas, we offer various therapies that range from evidence-based talk therapies to artistic or physically expressive therapies.
One of the things that makes our addiction and mental health treatment unique is our low client-to-staff ratio. A personalized treatment team that you have 1:1 sessions with helps you build trust and feel safe with our staff. Your team includes a recovery specialist, case specialist, and personal counselor.
Ongoing clinical oversight and a low client-to-staff ratio allow our staff to give you more individualized attention, which supports your long-term progress and growth in recovery.
Past trauma can be complex and overwhelming, mentally and emotionally, to overcome. In individual and group talk therapy sessions, our licensed therapists work with you to process traumatic events and reshape negative thought patterns. Negative thoughts or emotions can lead to unhelpful or destructive behaviors.
By understanding and reshaping your thinking in therapy, you can make better behavioral decisions and improve your mindfulness when coming across difficult feelings or thoughts.
CBT and DBT are two forms of psychotherapy that help clients with PTSD manage flashbacks, emotional regulation, anxiety, and maladaptive coping behaviors.
In CBT, clients focus on the present moment and their thoughts and emotional patterns. You learn through therapy how your thinking connects to unhealthy behaviors, giving you a new perspective on coping and overcoming challenges in your life. CBT promotes practicing healthy coping skills to address stressors and triggers.
In DBT, you focus on the present moment/current situation while also working towards self-acceptance and the desire to grow. DBT is a talk therapy rooted in CBT practices, but also encourages self-compassion, validation, and motivation.
Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and exposure therapy support the brain’s ability to reprocess trauma safely.
EMDR helps you process traumatic memories or experiences using guided eye movements that stimulate the brain. This therapy allows you to reprocess the memory, reduce its emotional effects, and relieve symptoms of PTSD.
Exposure therapy helps you confront trauma and related stress or emotions that you’ve avoided. This helps your brain understand that it is safe to feel these feelings and break the fear-avoidance cycle related to your trauma.
Antidepressants and other medications may be incorporated through careful medication management when clinically appropriate. This can help manage depression, anxiety, sleep, or concentration issues that occur due to PTSD.
At Infinite Recovery, we use a combination of individual therapy, group therapy, and trauma-specific clinical work. This balance is an effective way of treating PTSD, giving you one-on-one time with your therapist to work through your unique experiences and set goals in healing while also allowing you to build communication and social skills in group settings.
Part of your treatment at Infinite Recovery includes holistic therapies and the practice of healthy coping mechanisms. Grounding techniques, mindfulness, and other coping skills help manage PTSD symptoms. Learning these skills also allows you to adopt healthy practices outside our treatment center, helping you take control of your mental health and build confidence.
Throughout the duration of our mental health IOP, we instill structure, consistency, and routine to support overall well-being, nervous system stability and regulation, and improved quality of life.
We offer mental health treatment for clients coping with PTSD, which can include re-experiencing flashbacks or nightmares of traumatic events, intrusive memories or thoughts, emotional numbness, and hyper-vigilance.
When coping with trauma disorders or PTSD, clients may experience anxiety symptoms. It’s not uncommon for mental health disorders to co-exist. Because of this, we offer whole-person, comprehensive care that addresses various needs during treatment.
Clients with substance use disorders often experience mental health symptoms. Vice versa, mental health disorders can cause clients to turn to destructive behaviors or habits, such as substance abuse. We offer dual diagnosis care that addresses both addiction and mental health disorders simultaneously.
Signs that treatment may be needed include persistent flashbacks, avoidance behaviors, emotional distress, changes in daily functioning, or difficulty maintaining relationships after a traumatic event. Early intervention can significantly improve long-term trauma recovery and overall well-being.
Family Therapy and Education
In PTSD treatment, Infinite Recovery involves your loved ones in the journey. This helps your family understand what you're healing from and how they can support you. Likewise, it's important for your family members to understand what triggers trauma responses so they can help you continue healing outside the walls of our treatment facility. Your family is a critical component of your support system, and we prioritize their involvement.
Group Therapy and Peer Support
When coping with substance abuse or a mental health condition, it's common for clients to self-isolate. This can negatively impact your healing process, though, which is why we implement group therapy into your PTSD treatment. Strengthening connections with peers improves your communication and social skills. Group therapy and peer support also show you that you are not alone. You learn what your peers are going through and recognize similarities in your experiences and/or healing journeys session-by-session.
Aftercare and Ongoing Support
Support doesn't stop after completing a treatment program at Infinite Recovery. We work with you throughout the duration of your treatment stay to create an aftercare plan that is specific to your unique needs. Aftercare, or step-down care, keeps you on track in your recovery and healing. This may include outpatient services, like in-person or virtual therapy, and engagement with our alumni program.
At Infinite Recovery, we provide a high-end, private treatment setting designed to feel safe, grounding, and respectful. Your clinical healing and personal dignity are supported, and our treatment center also helps remove outside distractions or chaos that can interfere with your progress.
Yes, co-existing substance use and mental health disorders are treated simultaneously. Our staff will curate a treatment plan that addresses your addiction and mental health needs.
