My name is Makali and I am the Alumni Manager with Infinite Recovery. I am an Austin native and grateful to have grown up in one the best recovery communities in the nation. As a woman in long term recovery and a mother, I am passionate about helping others like me and not like me. Helping other women and men is one of best gifts my sobriety has given me. I am currently in school obtaining my LCDC-I as the first stepping stone to my LPC, as well as active in my recovery community and extra curriculars with my sons. One of the coolest parts of my position is I get to continue to stay connected to people who I have had the honor to meet on their recovery journey as well as teaching them how to have fun again, connect with others, build self esteem and stay connected to our community. I get the privilege of coordinating and hosting weekly, monthly and annual events. It’s an incredible gig, I know. In addition, I follow up with everyone who has come through our care at certain milestones and get to celebrate the highs as well as supporting the lows. I rotate between both of our locations, Cedar Park and Buda, so I am able to work with everyone at every level of care and begin getting to know them as soon as possible. With the majority of my previous work experience being in the medical field, working with people has always been something I love and excel at. To be able to continue my career in SUD treatment and behavioral health in general, allows me to indulge at a deeper level of care and impact on others.
