Current Position
Brett is the Clinical Director with Infinite Recovery. In this position, Brett manages a diverse and highly qualified clinical staff in an inpatient residential substance use treatment center, Legacy Ranch. Brett is responsible for oversight, supervision, and quality assurance of all clinical services, developing and maintaining clinical policies and procedures, maintaining effective clinical organization and structure, maintaining patient medical records, collaborating with interdepartmental leadership teams, counseling clients individually, facilitating group counseling, and ensuring all clinical services are in compliance with accrediting boards, payor guidelines, and county, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
Approach
Brett takes a collaborative, strengths-based approach to helping his clients live authentically and navigate life’s challenges. He strongly believes that the quality of the relationship between the therapist and the client is one of the most important factors in achieving positive therapeutic outcomes. To this end, Brett works hard to ensure that his clients feel understood, respected, and safe to show up as their true selves. In session, Brett integrates elements of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other culturally-affirming approaches that help clients move towards healing and growth.
Professional Interests
Brett enjoys working with clients focused on (re)building confidence and self-esteem, healing from trauma, establishing and maintaining sobriety, and learning how to manage symptoms of depression and anxiety. Brett is especially passionate about working with those affected by substance use disorders, providing clinical supervision, developing therapeutic curriculum, and facilitating therapy groups.
Personal Interests
In his free time, Brett loves spending time with his family, antiquing, woodcrafting, playing golf, cheering for Houston-based sports teams, traveling, visiting museums, and playing Pokémon Go.
