At Infinite Recovery … We believe that people are our greatest resource. That’s why we are excited to introduce you to our staff, one person at a time. This month, please meet our Executive Director, KC Davis.
Q: What do you do at Infinite Recovery?
A: I am the executive director
Q: Why are you passionate about working with people in recovery?
A: My own experiencing in getting sober made me passionate about helping others see that it is possible. I remember feeling like I was a lost cause and that it would never get better. I want to help others move through that process and have hope.
Q: Tell us what clients can expect during their first visit with you.
A: I’d love to say you can expect a warm smile. But if you catch me just walking by I may have on my “on a mission” face!
Q: What are a few of your favorite things to do around Austin?
A: Grocery shop! I know that sound weird but I like grocery shopping and I am currently obsessed with HEB. We didn’t have them in Dallas and I am loving them.
Q: How is your role important in the recovery process?
A: I oversee the organizational management of the company, making sure that processes are efficient so that clinical staff can focus on the clients. Best part of my job though is the clients, because I am also a counselor by trade I get to see clients individually and do groups throughout the week. Staying plugged into the clients reminds me what it’s all about.
Q: What inspired you to work in the treatment industry?
A: I sort of got into the industry by accident. I agreed to be a house manager for a friend that was opening up sober living while I was going to college. Ten years later I have a master’s degree in counseling and am executive director of a treatment center.
Q: Share with us some of your favorite hobbies.
A: I love spending time with my husband. We bring out the goofiest side of one another and no matter what we are doing it’s always filled with peace, joy, and laughter.
Editor’s Note: KC didn’t mention it, but she is also obsessed with her cat, named Tony. And from the looks of these pictures, the feeling is mutual. Don’t believe me? check out her Facebook page!
Q: What is one thing that not many people know about you?
A: There are a couple of things about me that surprise people. The best one is probably that I used to have dreadlocks when I was in college. I actually got them while I was sober! Other things people may not know is that I got my counseling degree at a seminary and spent a year doing mission work in Guatemala.
